Different parts, Troy, Floor, aaand of course Dawkins. Every child is worth a better tale.Ĥ-The Greatest Show On Earth : Another long song here. The orchestra, Anette, Marco, lyrics.ģ-Weak Fantasy : One of the most underrated Nightwish songs. Goosebumps everytime i listen to this song.Ģ-The Poet And The Pendulum : I love long songs. Its story is traumatic, and the music brings it beauty.ġ-Ghost Love Score (with Floor) : This one is absolutely my favorite song of all time. It was nice to see this song be played live. Wishmaster - I like all songs from the third album equally, so this was a tough choice, but I settled with the song of the same name, since it was the first Nightwish song I listened to.ġ0th Man Down - What? No Escapist? No Sagan? I couldn't decide between those two tracks, so my logic was to pick a different track, or otherwise this post would've never been completed. To be honest, I find the instrumental to be more captivating than the original itself. This song probably has my most favorite of Emppu's guitar riffs and Tuomas' keyboard chorus riffs. Sahara - Again with Egypt and the guitar-playing. I think Tuomas said this song was influenced by the death of his grandfather, and recently I lost my grandfather as well, so the meaning of this song made me think of my grandfather, which adds more to my liking of this song. Turn Loose the Mermaids - I'm a bit picky about Nightwish ballads, but this song was instant love when I first heard it. I think this song is one of Nightwish's sweetest and maybe even one of the most delicate pieces of music, in a positive sense.

My Walden - I find people don't like this song much, and I really don't understand why. This song was the first Nightwish song I learned on guitar, so the nostalgia adds to its rank, as well. I find ancient Egypt fascinating, especially during Tutankhamun's reign, so there's that. Tutankhamen - My favorite track off Nightwish's first album.

This song was probably my most favorite to play on the guitar I loved Emppu's guitar playing in this song so much, I had to learn it myself! Personally, I think this song is the most elegant song in NW history.ĭevil & the Deep Dark Ocean - I love the complexity of this song and the duo between Tarja and Tapio. I must admit, however, I was not a huge fan of this song many years ago back when I was still a newbie fan. This song was my dream song to see live, which came true thrice. Ghost Love Score - Another song whose outro I can listen over and over and OVER, because it's so brutally gorgeous. I have to listen to this song while in a specific mood, however. I find this song to be quite personal for me as well, since I feel a deep and solace connection to water or any element made of water. Ocean Soul - A song so vulnerable that Nightwish won't even play it live, I have much respect. This is one of the few NW songs where I listen to the final chorus and outro repeatedly, because of sheer power and emotion I'm sure lots of people can connect to. Here goes.Įver Dream - My most favorite, for profound and historical reasons, but I digress. While I have tons of favorite NW songs, for me, I'm going to try and rank my top ten individually from each album, bonus, single, so on, but with only one exception.
